As you may be aware the Regional Powerboat Trainers have hosted a number of coastal events for the last 4 years where they have taken, basically anyone, on a coastal experience day. The aim of these days afloat are to give inland sailors / powerboaters the opportunity to hone their skills and gather some experience of coastal powerboating. Have you just completed or are thinking of doing your Intermediate / Advanced Powerboat Course? Well why not join us and get some experience. Although the day will not be a course, you will get lots of free advice / training / information re navigation, boat prep, handling skills etc. Up to 6 hours on the water, we usually cover around 50 miles and yes you get to drive. What does this costs you. Well we are not a commercial organisation and as such do not charge. All we ask is that you contribute towards our launching and fuel costs. You use our boats and equipment. All you need is suitable clothing and spare kit plus a decent lifejacket, preferably an auto inflate. A usual day incurrs arounf £100 costs, but this is usually divided between the crew. We normally take 3 or 4 crew, so as you can see its relatively cheap for a day on the coast. So if you want some coastal expereince then get in touch. [email]stuart.scrimgeour@btinternet.com.
